The IP11 postcode is in the Ipswich district of Suffolk, UK. It covers the settlements of Felixstowe, Walton, Trimley, Bawdsey, and Kirton, and is located east of the River Orwell estuary. The postcode is split into two parts: IP11 and IP12, which however have identical geographic coverage.

Felixstowe is a seaside resort town and major freight port on the North Sea coast. It is home to the Port of Felixstowe, the UK's busiest container port, and is one of the oldest continuously occupied seaports in the British Isles. Hence, it is an important hub of political, economic and cultural life in the area.

Walton is a small village located to the west of Felixstowe seafront. It is mainly residential, and there are still several remnants of Walton's rural past, such as areas of heathland and woodland.

Trimley is a larger village located north of Felixstowe. Its riverside setting is popular with locals, and it is home to the Felixstowe Ferry Conservation Area, a popular tourist destination with bird watching and similar activities.

Bawdsey is a village situated directly on the coast of the North Sea. It has a long historic association with military defence, as it was the site of the first RAF radar station in 1936.

Kirton is a village located to the south of Felixstowe. It is renowned for its picturesque views, local wildlife, historic architecture and ancient woodland.

The economy of the IP11 postcode is heavily reliant on the freight industry, with Felixstowe port providing a major source of employment. There is also some agricultural activity in the area, including fruit growing in the sheltered climate of Bawdsey. The leisure industry is of high importance, with the coastal resorts and areas of natural beauty providing employment in the hospitality, tourism and entertainment sectors.
