Popular state primary schools include Woodlands Primary and St Thomas More Roman Catholic Primary, both with good Ofsted reports. Private schools include Edge Vales Prep, Fairlop Primary and Exquisite Tutoring. Popular secondary schools include St Martins Catholic School, St. Bonaventures Catholic School and Ilford County High School.

Hainault and Fairlop are also thriving business hubs with the popular Redbridge Business Centre in the area. It's home to a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as leisure centres, health clubs, churches and shopping centres.

The area is very diverse when it comes to people and communities, with a large Jewish community which has a number of synagogues based in the area, as well as many other religious groups such as the local Catholic and Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
