The GL20 postcode is in the Gloucester district of England. It is a relatively rural area located close to the north-west edge of the Cotswolds and at the edge of the Forest of Dean.

The GL20 postcode stretches from Ashchurch, the village of Kemerton, and Hewelsfield in the north-west, all the way past Tibberton, Twyning, and Upper Slaughter in the south-east. It covers a large area, with the villages of Tirley, Chaceley, Tirley Garth, Teddington, and Hillend making up the remaining villages in the postcode.

Most of the area is characterised by its rolling hills, lush green valleys, and its abundance of apple orchards. The lovely River Severn also winds its way through the area. This landscape provides plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, paddling, or horse riding.

This area is popular with both locals and tourists alike, boasting amenities such as pubs, cafes, Indian restaurants, and even a micro-brewery. With a variety of large open spaces, such as Ashchurch Recreation Ground and Preston Woods, it is easy to find a place to sit back and enjoy the countryside. Furthermore, a range of independent shops and small business dot the area.

The nearby cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham, as well as the town of Tewkesbury are also popular destinations for locals. This is due to the easy access provided by the M5 motorway to the north and the A40, A38, A449, and A417 roads, which traverse the postcode.
