Speeding!, 3rd January
The section of Crow Road, from its beginning, at the junction of Crosshill Street and Lennox Road tends to be somewhat speed limited, by cars parked on the roadway. There is a pavement on one side of the road. Houses on the other side of the road have to manoeuvre to enter and exit their premises. There is also a pathway across the road used by people and wild animals up to, and including deer!
Beyond the Geelong Gardens junction, traffic tends to speed up, even though there is a blind corner leading on to a straight up to the golf club car park.
Traffic coming down the hill also tends to pay little, to no, attention to the speed limit, including push bikes. Overtaking also takes place, in extreme cases!!
This area is within the 30mph. Most of the motor vehicles, cars, motorbikes and sometimes quads, pay scant attention to this speed limit.
It is some years since the last checks on vehicle number, and I presume speed ( as the device had two sensors , separated by c. 500mm). This was done Monday to Friday, so did not include higher volumes over a weekend.
Police do not seem to deal with this issue. Speed checks, taken from the golf course car park, will quickly show examples of above.

Road surface breaking up approximately 2feet wide and several inches, this section of road was closed for a week prior to cycle race and not sure why numerous potholes are now developing and require action before we start seeing vehicles tyres/alloys/suspension getting damaged or worse case scenario scene of accident. Great that road was resurfaced in certain, but why not repair the full to a high standard.
