The centre of the town is Milngavie Town Centre. This includes a range of independent retailers, restaurants, cafes, pubs, banks and a Post Office. It is also where you will find the Milngavie Station, which is the starting point of the West Highland Way walking trail.

The local area also offers a wealth of outdoor activities, including cycling and horse riding. There are many golf courses and driving ranges nearby, including the award-winning Milngavie Golf Club.

The G63 postcode is served by two secondary schools: Bearsden Academy and Rosshead Secondary. Both of these are rated Good by Education Scotland. There is also a number of primary schools in the area, such as St Constantine's Primary School, St Joseph's Primary School and St Matthew's Primary School.

The local health centre, East Dunbartonshire Community Health Partnership, serves all of the G63 postcode area, offering primary care services such as GP and minor surgery.

The area is well-served by public transport links, with the two railway stations situated at Milngavie and Bearsden, and a local bus service which connects Bearsden to the city centre.

The G63 postcode area is home to one of Scotland's oldest charities, The Albany Aid Society, which has been providing support and assistance to local people in need since it was founded in 1847.

The G63 postcode also encompasses some historical sites of importance, such as St Mary's Church in Milton of Campsie and the ruins of the 13th century Balmore castle. The area was also a scene of some early Industrial Revolution activities at the Lennoxtown coal mine.
