G21 is connected to the city centre via several major road routes including the M8 motorway, the A8, A73 and A803. It is also served by regular bus services from the city centre.

The area consists mainly of residential housing, but there are a few commercial and industrial premises based in the district, including a golf club, a leisure centre, a library, supermarkets and a few takeaways. It is also home to a number of highly rated schools, such as Newlands Primary and Secondary Schools as well as Drumchapel High School.

In terms of education, G21 benefits from local further education campuses as well as access to nearby university campuses such as the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow. This area also has several leisure facilities, including the Glasgow Climbing Centre. The Glasgow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Glasgow Concert Hall, and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall are all located nearby. There are also a few community centres throughout the district.

In terms of amenities, G21 is home to a range of cosmopolitan, authentic, and traditional restaurants and cafes. Across G21, there are a number of places to shop with a great selection of independent retailers, supermarkets, and specialist shops as well as a number of local pubs and bars.

The area has a strong sense of community and is well connected to the wider Glasgow metropolitan area. The area's close proximity to the motorway network make it a desirable location for commuters, further enhanced by the plentiful local amenities and excellent local schools.
