EX7 is home to some great schools and universities, including Exeter College, Exeter University and Teignmouth Community College. There are also several supermarkets and shops in the area, as well as other amenities such as libraries, cinemas and eateries.

The local economy is mainly based on tourism, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and events throughout the year. There are also local businesses specialising in many different sectors such as construction, manufacturing and engineering.
