The EX37 postcode is a geographical area in the district of Exeter, England. It covers the area from Crediton to Westward Ho!, and includes the villages of Alverdiscott, Bratton Fitzgerald, Chittlehamholt, Daccombe, Instow, Knowstone, North Tawton, Rackenford, South Molton, Umberleigh and West Anstey. The postcode EX37 was created in the 1980s, merging an earlier version of the postcode which comprised two letters and one number.

The area is aesthetically beautiful, with rolling hills, thatched cottages and the River Taw running through it. Once part of the ancient Kingdom of Devon, it is steeped in rich history. Avid birdwatchers flock to the area as it is home to a wide variety of species, including redwings and buzzards. There are two Sites of Special Scientific Interest nearby, Whitehall Wood and Thelbridge Cross.

Ex37 is a vibrant agricultural community, with much of the land given over to farming. It is also the habitat of some rare species, such as harvest mice, and is popular with hikers. There are several medieval churches in the villages, with one of the oldest being St John the Baptist in Umberleigh, which was originally built in the 14th century.

The EX37 postcode is well served by public transport. Crediton and South Molton train stations are just a few miles away, and bus services ply the main roads connecting the villages. There are plenty of pubs, galleries and museums for those looking to explore the area's culture, whilst the nearby Saunton Sands beach is popular with surfers and families.

The numerous schools in the area provide a good quality education to local children, whilst Exeter University and Petroc College are within easy reach. Also located in Ex37 is Tawstock Court, which is a Grade II listed historical house and home to the Orchard family who have lived there since Norman times.

EX37 is a vibrant, rural area with plenty of activities to suit everyone, from birdwatchers to holidaymakers, with its idyllic villages, ancient churches and beautiful countryside.
