The area is served by two railway stations, Woolsery and Hartland Quay, and is well-connected to Exeter and Barnstaple via the road network. There are a variety of shopping opportunities available in the area, with East Anstey, Goodleigh, Hartland and Woolsery all having small local stores. Nearby Bideford has a twice-weekly outdoor market. Nearby towns of Torrington, Barnstaple, and Bideford are filled with high-street stores and independent retailers, each with its own unique retail profile.
