EH21 offers great transport links. The area is served by both buses and trains, as Musselburgh railway station operates frequently and offers direct connections to nearby Edinburgh. There are also regular bus services to Edinburgh, as well as to other local areas. The nearest airport, Edinburgh International Airport, is just 15 minutes from the EH21 postcode.

The parks and green spaces in the area are well-maintained and are great for taking a relaxing evening stroll. One can find the Eskside Nature Reserve in the area, as well as Musselburgh Links, Nature Inverleith Park, Lochend Woods, and plenty of other parks.

EH21 postcode features plenty of unique shops and boutiques to explore. Salters Road Shopping Centre is the largest shopping area in the postcode area, with several smaller shops along Musselburgh High Street and George Street. The area also has a local cinema, and several galleries and museums, such as the National Museum of Scotland.
