Juniper Green, to the south of Currie, is another residential area known for its strong sense of community and exceptionally well-maintained gardens. It has its own shopping centre, the Juniper Green Shopping Park, which is home to a Tesco, a bakers, and a selection of independent stores. Juniper Green is also within easy commuting distance to the city centre.

Lang Whang, a small rural village, boasts an abundance of stunning scenery. It is a popular destination for hiking, cycling and horse riding, as well as having an 18-hole golf course.

Bonnington, an old fishing port, retains a typical small village feel. It is home to great harbour views, a range of historic buildings and scenery, a small beach, as well as attractions such as the Scottish Seabird Centre and a range of local pubs and restaurants.

Hardengreen, a newer residential area of EH14, is home to a Hi-Life supermarket, a pizza takeaway, and a selection of small independent shops.

Kirknewton is a village located 6 miles from Edinburgh city centre. It is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside, and offers a peaceful atmosphere for a range of activities, such as mountain biking, walking and horse riding.

Lastly, Ratho is a quaint village with a historic centre, winding streets and timbered buildings. It is home to a wide range of local services, as well as an open-air swimming pool. Additionally, Ratho is popular for its range of local shops, cafes and restaurants.
