FIXMYSTREET IN DG3 5DW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DG3 5DW:
Flooding due to a blocked drain in Back Street, Thornhill., 8th November
I reported this as a collapsed drain which caused a pothole over 5 years ago. The council came out eventually and sorted the pothole without clearing the drain, ever since the whole street, pavement to pavement has flooded when it rains. I have reported this many times over the years yet the problem still exists. In the winter this is a health hazard to young and elderly who use this route to get to school and the shops as it sometimes freezes over and is like an ice rink. Will it ever be sorted, bear in mind it never once flooded before the drain collapsed.

Two large blocked drains, 11th November
There are three drains each within appx 6 feet of each other. Two large, one small. The two large drains are completely blocked and do not allow for drainage. All water has to drain via very small drain behind my garden fence. Because it can’t handle due to being blocked with leaves, my garden gets flooded. We need all three drains cleared and street sweeper to clear leaves. I do not have any trees on my property but am suffering due to them blocking only small working drain as two large drains not allowing water to drain away. Also, kerb and tarmac round small drain on my fence line is starting to breakup.
I live at no 2A and am more than willing to meet with a representative to show which drains are the problem.

Drain on corner of A702 and Galbraith St blocks in heavy rain causing flooding across road andcinto our garage at our house, 8th November
The main drain cannot take that amount of water, as it comes down the hill front and back streets, can get to 1ft deep. This happens every time we have heavy rain, every year. Because all drains get filled with leaves all the way up to the cross, it rushes down to this corner

Flooding due to a collapsed drain., 6th November
About 5 years ago this drain collapsed causing a pothole and flooding, I reported it as that back then. Eventually the council came out and sorted the pothole but did not clear the drain, now everytime we get heavy rain the water lies from one pavement across on to the other. When a car goes through it the water reaches the door of the house. As this is the main walkway for the residents of Muirhall Rd, Waltrees Rd and Cairnkinna Crescent to reach Drumlanrug St that means kids walking to school and old folk going shopping have to make their way round or through it. Please can someone come out and get it sorted
