Fly tipping of a lot of grass cuttings dumped on the, 9th May
There is a lot of grass cuttings being dumped on the banking outside of my garden , the smell is bad and it is only going to get worse , the person doing it does not put it outside his garden , to make it look like i am doing it , i am not as my mower is a robotic that mulches it , we have got this old railway path tidied up in recent years please help to stop it.

Pothole caused by roadworks, 5th February
Just before the temporary traffic lights heading towards lockerbie, there is a brand new, great big hole in the road. It is where the trucks all use the clutch to shift gears to go through the lights, so all the torque has started peeling up the road surface. This is one hundred percent caused by the temp lights, so you need to move quick to get them to fix it before they pack up and go. Also, can we please have some double yellow lines there too as the people parking outside the sandstone terrace are always forcing traffic out into the middle of the road.

Turning Circle Parking, 27th November
I live in a Cul-de-sac in Lochmaben called Balcastle Gardens we are fed up at certain times of the day we have people parking in the turning point to either go to the surgery (they have no parking) or the worse time is when school is coming out and parents park in the turning point to pick up their children from the local school which is the other side of the very busy A709 the turning point is also access for two houses there are six houses here. Mostly elderly and have required this year for the ambulance services to attend on several occasions... not only that but also for delivery of heating oil so need the turning point to go back out failing that they have to reverse onto the main road When the council built out the high street for a crossing we told them at the time people would use this place for picking up and dropping off their children they said (verbally) we would get yellow lines but when finished with work went against putting yellow lines down In looking into my concerns with road safety etc .... Dumfries & Galloway council placed the crossing in the wrong place it’s to the left of the junction and is less that 5 meters ( government advice says a crossing next to a junction ) should be on the right and a minimum of 5 meters the reason when you come out of a junction you look to the right? I personally think the council should place yellow lines around the turning point with keep clear on the road

Old farm gate in hedge collapsing towards road, 26th March
As you come up the hill from Lochmaben towards Torthorwald, there is an old farm gate in the hedge as a fence, however it is unmaintained and now collapsing towards the road and is in an insecure position. It is gonna collapse into the carriageway in a very short time indeed.

Broken spring on coach on school run, 18th December
The road form Watchhill Road right along to Slacks Farm is pretty bad potholes and it is our Sheildhill school run. Due to not being able to avoid some of these holes, the driver has to go through them resulting on our coaches being damaged. We hope this will be quickly resolved.

Drain full of leaves also crumbling edges and lower than road level. Potential for drainage problems in heavy rain, 27th November
Noticed this when walking around it. This drain doesn’t clear well in heavy rain so causes a large puddle thus preventing easy pedestrian access to our home

Road surface crumbling away, 16th April
The road surface is crumbling away here, just where the lorries have to stop or change gear to go around the parked cars. They are ripping up the road surface with every crunch of their gears. Really it needs turned into a no parking zone so that the heavy trucks are not ripping up the surface with their torque. That is a longer term fix, but for now all the holes need patched and the really bad bits resurfaced. It won't do jack unless something is done about the stop-start going round parked cars issue though.

BT grids constantly banging, 5th October
There are 3 grids next to each other in the middle of the highway. Every vehicle goes over them causing constant noise day and night. They have been 'fixed' several times over the past years but they never solve the problem for more than a couple of months then the road surface fails again and the problem returns.
