DT5 is a postcode district covering part of the town of Dorchester in the county of Dorset in South West England. It was introduced in November 2007 and has been replaced with the older DT1 and DT2 postcodes in most instances. The DT5 postcode area covers the western half of Dorchester, extending to the East and West Holme and Charlton Down.

The DT5 postcode district is bounded on the west and east sides respectively by the A37 and A352 and on the north by the A35. It encompasses the settlements of Chickerell, Wyke Regis, Loders, Crossways and Winterborne Abbas.

The postcode district comprises of mostly residential and commercial developments, with a small amount of rural land. The districts cover several schools, including Dorchester Middle School and Thomas Hardye School, as well as numerous churches, pubs, shops, and medical centres.

Most of the area was developed following the construction of the industrial estate around the Old Brewery in 2008, and the subsequent development of the former Army camp into a light industrial estate. Other major employers in the area are the modern Dorchester Gateway Shopping Centre and the Odeon Cinema.

The district is home to several green spaces, including the Scott-Lidstone Recreation Ground on Brewery Square and the Maumbury Rings, an Iron Age enclosed settlement. Also, in the area is Maumbury Park, a conservation area with a pond which also features an amphitheatre where music and theatre festivals are held.

The postcode is also home to The Keep Military Museum, as well as Dorset County Museum, which contains a wide range of materials regarding the local history and art and drama. There is also Dorchester Town Football Club, a local football club that competes in the Southern League Premier Division.

The DT5 postcode district is in close proximity to the nearby towns of Weymouth and Poole, which are within 30 minutes' drive, as well as the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, making the area popular with tourists and providing a wealth of attractions, cafes, restaurants, and nightlife options.
