No speed signs on the road that seems to be a 60 but Google maps says 40, 21st October
Driving down A689 from Newcastle to Carlisle. Particularly the haltwhistle area. There are speed cameras scattered everywhere which I have no issue with. The issue I have is when you have these speed cameras and a lack of signage to say what speed the road is. As particularly in this area there are absolutely no signs and currently what looks to be a 60mph road is on Google maps showing as a 40mph road?? This was causing chaos as some drivers seem to know the road but for others who don't how can you you fine people for not following the speed limits if you can't even be bothered to clearly sign post the area. This is clear entrapment and this needs sorted out immediately. As I have spoke to others who have complained about the same issue. To realiterate I have no issue with the speed cameras, I have the issue with lack of sign postage and or this needs communicated with Google maps as it is a long stretch of road that is possibly 20mph wrong on maps. Sort this ASAP

Excessive speeding and use by HGV (Biffa etc), 21st September
We have just moved to Brisco CA4 0QS (Fox Clease) and our home is the last property (heading north) before the 30/40 mph sign (one is obscured by hedge growth). My complaint is excessive speeding (the south 30 MPH sign has a digital speed campera warning) and the 40mph speed limit coming into the village (going south) is on a blind bend which is dangerous! My second complaint is use of the village as access to the M6 by HGV vehicles, especially Biffa refuse trucks and trucks with trailers! Happy to discuss if you want to contact me

Traffic light timing is wrong., 28th September
Having noticed for several weeks that traffic backs up westbound beyond Corby Lea at busy times, to the extent that we can have dozens of vehicles using our entrance as a three point turn. Yesterday we drove into Carlisle and found that the traffic lights on Corby Hill crossroads CA4 8PL are allowing only 2 or 3 vehicles through Carlisle-bound at a time. The same was true returning from Carlisle. The major road is not getting sufficient priority for through traffic to cope at peak times.

Rough road surface/undulations, 27th July
There are some large lumps and holes opposite the junction on the westbound side of the A689, on the verge side of the carriageway. They are very rough when driven over but they have also caused a couple of cyclists to veer suddenly into the traffic stream which seems dangerous. There are some similar ones on the eastbound side as well, just to the east of the junction.
