Large pothole on the side of Bath Road just after Tracy park., 2nd April

Tue, 02 Apr 2024 17:43:49 +0100
51.44137 -2.413704

Very large and deep pothole which created irreparable damage to the tyre. Pothole was in an unavoidable place as it was on a bend and there was incoming traffic. Was unable to pull over due to it being rush hour but went back a couple of days later and has been “fixed”, but clearly the road is still very uneven and is there is still a big hole.

Blocked drains, 1st April

Mon, 01 Apr 2024 18:27:25 +0100
51.447918 -2.428146

Due to the blocked drains, water is coming out of the drains and flowing down the hill, as all other drains down the hill are also blocked. This is a chronic water flow issue that has caused erosion of the road surface and algae has formed on the tarmac, leading to an extremely slippery surface that could lead to injury

Lane flooding, 22nd February

Thu, 22 Feb 2024 15:28:14 +0000
51.4508 -2.435703

The drainage ditch along the left hand side of the road in the photos has not been maintained and so water cannot flow away. This requires digging out along the whole length to where it joins a stream which runs under the lane in the far distance of the image. The two images were taken approximately a week apart.

A long line of deep potholes in the centre of the road, 16th February

Fri, 16 Feb 2024 14:19:03 +0000
51.455984 -2.429758

All of the red section of Naishcombe Hill is disintegrating. The section in the middle of the road is especially poor. Old repairs lasted a few weeks. The gutters of the lower half of Naishcombe Hill are accumulating more and more large stones from the potholes. These stones are being thrown up in the air by traffic. More and more lorries exceeding the Abson weight limit are using Naishcombe Hill increasing the wear on the road. The central ruts are a great risk to two wheeled vehicles. The loose stones need to be cleared as well as repairing the road surface for the long term.
