BN21 is served by two main railway lines, the Southern network and the East Coastway Line. There are regular trains to Brighton, Lewes and Hastings. There are also several bus routes run by Stagecoach and other companies that service the area.

BN21 contains a number of schools, kindergartens and nurseries offering both state and independent education, including private secondary schools such as Eastbourne College and St Mary's College. In addition, the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex both have campuses in Eastbourne.

The area has a range of leisure and sports facilities, including two swimming pools and a range of other sports centres, such as the Knockhatch Adventure Park near Polegate. The Eastbourne International tennis tournament takes place in May each year at Devonshire Park.

The BN21 postcode is a vibrant and diverse area offering ample opportunity for recreation, shopping and education. It is a popular residential area, with many homeowners enjoying its beautiful scenery and coastal views.
