The BH24 postcode is within the East Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which has been officially recognised since 1965 and covers 140 square miles of the county of Dorset.

Within the postcode area, a number of sites of special scientific interest (SSSIs) have been identified including Forest Corner Inclosure and The New Forest. These sites represent amongst others the area's rich diversity of wildlife and ecology. The area is also an important habitat for species such as the nationally scarce Wood Tiger moth, Gander Water crowfoot and increasingly rare lapwing.

The BH24 postcode includes some of the characteristically English areas of the Avon Valley and Moors Valley. Moors Valley Country Park lies in parts of both the BH23 and BH24 postcodes and features a range of wooded and open habitats, with a number of walking and cycle trails for visitors.
