The BH11 postcode covers an area centred on Broadstone in South West Dorset, England.

Situated close to the A31 road, which links Bournemouth with the county town of Dorchester, its stretch of postcode covers about five miles from the coast in both directions. In south-east direction, the postcode approaches the outskirts of West Moors and Ferndown. To the north-west, it takes in Canford Heath and Creekmoor.

The area offers a very convenient connection with nearby Bournemouth and Poole due the Bournemouth Spur Road, which links with the A350 and A341 trunk roads. With Southampton and London a short car or train journey away, BH11 is a key arterial route in the south for commuters.

The BH11 postcode also serves the residential areas of Broadstone itself, as well as Canford Bottom, Merley, Oakdale, Creekmoor, Foxholes and Creekmoor Park. The area is primarily residential, with the retail located in neighbouring parts of the borough such as Ferndown.

In terms of schooling, the postcode covers two primary education establishments; St. Paul's CofE Academy and Merley First School. Secondary education is delivered at Corfe Hills School, which also contains a sixth form and specialist secondary resource provision.

Much of the BH11 area is served by the Headstone, Merley and Broadstone bus routes, which link with neighbouring destinations such as Poole, Bournemouth and Ringwood.

The local pub of The Fox & Hounds is located just off the A31, while Canford Heath Heath Park is the closest regional park and covers over 120 acres. The park is home to a large pond and a popular outdoor gym. Further leisure amenities include the Jibs Leisure Centre and the Creeksmoor Indoor Bowls and Rink.

The popular Canford Heath heathland also covers for around 500 acres, and is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), owing to its rich biodiversity. Here, visitors can take part in activities such as dog-walking, horse-riding and golf.

The area takes its name from the nearby Broadstone, which was once a small hamlet centred around a wooden bridge over the River Stour. The bridge is now known as Lob-Bait Bridge, which is thought to refer to the Old English phrase “Lob-byt”, meaning “crooked path”.
