B25 is served by a number of public transport links. There are regular bus services to and from the city centre and many surrounding areas. There are two railway stations for the area; Small Heath and Bordesley. These rail services are part of the Airport services from Birmingham International Airport. The M6 motorway passes through the area.

The area also has a number of schools, both primary and secondary, as well as several faith schools, including Small Heath School. Other educational facilities include the Birmingham Skills Centre, which offers a variety of vocational courses and apprenticeships.

The community in the B25 postcode is diverse, with a variety of cultures and religious beliefs represented. The area is often seen as a wealthy suburb of Birmingham, although this is not always the case. There are areas with high concentrations of unemployment and there are high levels of youth crime as well as drug and alcohol related crime.

The area is home to a number of businesses, ranging from retail outlets and restaurants to manufacturing companies. It is also home to several large corporate offices and research centres, such as the National Exhibition Centre. The B25 area also has a thriving small business sector, which includes two industrial estates – Witton Industrial Estate and Kingstanding.

The B25 postcode district has a large retail sector, including the Stadium Retail Park, Small Heath Plaza Shopping Centre, and the Star City Entertainment Centre. There is also a good mix of smaller retailers, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and independent retailers.

The area has a number of local parks, including Adderley Park, Firs Park, Kingstanding Park, and Witton Country Park. These parks are popular among local families, as well as being used for local recreational activities and sporting events.
