The area features several football clubs including Kingstanding Eagles FC, Sutton Coldfield Town and Erdington & Saltley FC. It is also home to the Birmingham Wheels Karting Centre and the Mill Park Leisure Centre.

The area also features several leisure pursuits such as Castle Vale Golf Course, Great Stone Leisure Centre, and Kingstanding Community Centre. The National Trust's Sutton Park is located to the east and includes beautiful woodland, streams and meadows.

Education is provided by several primary and secondary schools, including English Martyrs Catholic Primary School, College Fields Primary School and Boldmere Junior School. Longwill School for the Deaf is also located in the area.

The area has good transport links, with the nearest train stations to the B23 postcode being Witton (0.6 miles/1.0 kilometre), Gravelly Hill (0.8 miles/1.3 kilometres) and Erdington (1.5 miles/2.5 kilometres). It is well connected to the rest of Birmingham by the A456 (Tyburn Road), and to the Midlands motorway network by the M6, the M6 Toll, and the M42. The Birmingham Airport is 20 miles/32 kilometres away.
