Handsworth is the largest neighbourhood in the B21 postcode, and is a well established inner city area famous for its parks, churches, and vibrant cultures. Soho Road has a large Asian population, running alongside the shops, supermarkets and curry houses catering for the local community. There are also bustling marketplaces, bustling shops, a community centre and fantastic restaurants.

Lozells is an area popular with students due to its proximity to the University of Birmingham and Aston University. Similarly, Aston has a variety of shops, large supermarkets and local amenities close by.

Newtown, is the area's smallest neighbourhood, stretching from Soho Road to the Aston Expressway. It is home to a wide range of cultural, social and business amenities, with the historic St Thomas Church at its heart.

Birchfield lies to the north of Handsworth, and is one of the oldest parts of Birmingham. Here you can find the Birmingham City University campus, Park View (formerly Birchfield Park), and numerous outdoor activities. There is a great mix of shops, bars, restaurants, and public spaces.

The B21 postcode is also well served by a number of transportation links, with a number of bus routes running through the area, as well as a light rail system. The nearest railway station is located in Aston.
